Traditional skin care the way grandma used to make it

anti-aging cream

By Karen on November 18, 2007

New formula high potency anti-ageing cream is up and running! Thanks to all for your wonderful feedback. I am so very proud of my new cream!
This is the best organic anti-ageing cream on the market. Every ingredient is hand picked for a specific purpose.
The goji berry for its high content of natural vitamin C and its free radical scavenging properties. Raw whey and honey are used not only for their fermentation purposes, but also for its natural alpha hydroxy acid action and removal of old, dead skin cells. Organic lard from free ranging pigs for its vitamin A and D, the absolute best transporter for the vitamins to be taken into the skin cells. I also infuse the lard with comfrey root for superior healing capabilities.
Unrefined shea and cocoa butter - both saturated with their full complement of nourishing and moisturising capabilities. Bee pollen - overflowing with vitamins, minerals, trace minerals and over 5000 enzymes. Aloe vera leaf juice - superior rejuvenation and hydration. Suma powder - a south american herb, known as a cellular regenerator, also nourishes connective tissue, making skin tighter (an herbal equivalent to DMAE). High potent vitamin E - with tocotrienols, 50X more potent at free radical scavenging than alpha tocepherol. Cod liver oil with lemon myrtle essential oil, superior vitamin A and D, necessary for glowing skin, Coenzyme Q10 -antioxidant and free radical scavenger, also excellent for connective tissue, and zinc oxide - a natural sunscreen.
And then of course it is all fermented!!

I’ve had wonderful reports already. I’ve even had one woman try it on her rather large breasts! She put it on one side only and definitely noticed a lift!
The colour is a smooth caramel, and occasionally has small grainy fragments from the unrefined shea butter. These are soon rubbed in. It has a pleasant smell unlike any other cream, as it is fragranced by its own nutrition. A miniscule amount of lemon myrtle essential oil is added to the cod liver to downplay the distinctive fishy smell. Lemon myrtle is also wonderful as an anti-bacterial and anti-fungal.

I also happened to turn 33 last week and went out on the town with a few friends. I was chatted up by a 22 year old who refused to believe I was turning 33 and asked to see ID! I’ve been using my own creams for over 2years now and I know there is more than just genetics or bad lighting going on! It was very ego gratifying to say the least :-)

  1. Karen, I just got your anti-aging cream in the mail yesterday, and I used it this morning for the first time (by the way, many thanks, Nourished, for the free goodie!). It is WONDERFUL. Honestly, this has to be the best face cream I have ever, ever used. I have tried SO many. I tend to be oily/combination, and every cream I try, even natural stuff, is either not enough (skin is still a bit tight feeling), or too much (really freakin’ oily within 2 hours of putting it on my face). I did the “no makeup” test today, and I pretty much didn’t have an oily sheen all day (just the teensiest bit, but not shiny, pretty matte for the most part), and it felt so supple and smooth and definitely no tightness (this was perfect timing, too, as the winter winds have certainly started here in the USA, and getting quite frigid in Pennsylvania). I couldn’t decide about the smell in the jar; it wasn’t offensive, but it smelled better once I put it on my face and rubbed it in - had a slight cocoa and berry smell, which was yummy! No lie, this is the best stuff, and I can only say that I wish you lived in the USA so I could get more of your stuff quicker than waiting for Aussie mail. I will definitely be ordering some stuff from you shortly. Everyone needs to buy this cream, it is incredible! I’m so betting on this stuff to keep my skin nice and looking (staying) young (I’m only 26 so I’m not panicking quite yet, just taking preventative measures!) Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! :-)

  2. You’re very welcome Devon. It’s so nice to give away freebies, especially of such good products.

Wow! You just made my whole week!!
Thank you so much! I’m so pleased. I’ve had such a battle with getting the smell nice without having to compromise on quality. There’s a lot of unrefined nutrients all battling it out, so the smell is rather unusual, but not unpleasant! The unrefined cocoa butter has a very strong chocolate smell and is even more pronounced in the daily moisturiser, very yummy indeed…

All I can say is: get used to looking 26 for a long long time :-)

I would like to add my thanks to Nourished Magazine and Karen for the delightful treat of a jar of Karen’s anti-ageing cream which arrived in my mail a couple of weeks ago. I was thrilled!

After years of using another locally-made beeswax-based product I’d finally decided I needed a change, as they continue to use a petrochemical derivative in the cream and I was seeking a more pure alternative. With perfect timing, your cream arrived and I am really happy with it.

I also found the scent a little unusual and slightly off-putting to begin with, but I actually find I love it now. The cream has just the right density for me - it’s rich and creamy but softens on the fingers and is absorbed beautifully. My skin feels plump, soft and firm without the the barrier feeling that I felt I had with my last product. I tend to be sensitive to various things too, and I’m happy to report that I have had no adverse reactions. I’ve just turned 40, but perhaps the years of beeswax products have been kind to me, ‘cos people just assume I’m younger. I look forward to maintaining the health of my skin with your cream. (You’ll have to keep me informed of where I can get it as you find distributors - I live in the hinterland, and don’t shop in Byron very often.)

Good one, Karen, and thanks again, Nourished !

  5. Where can I order some of your cream? I’m actually just starting to gather some ingredients together to start make my own facial and body products, but until I do I’d love to try yours, it sounds heavenly! I’m in the states, is it possible to get it out here?

    Thank you Tracy!
I’m so glad you’re liking my cream. I think I know the brand you’re talking about with the beeswax, so I feel quite chuffed you prefer mine over theirs.
I really truly believe the unrefined butters and oils make the cream so texturally beautiful and sink into the skin without the ‘barrier’ effect. We all know refined foods are denatured of nutrients, so why should it be any different in cosmetics. I will never go back to the sanitary, deodorised, refined butters and oils again…EVER! So my cream smells a little unusual because of it, like you, I love the smell of my creams, and I know my face is getting a proper full on feed!
Thank you so much for writing and giving such positive feedback. It means so much to me. :-)

I will definitely keep you informed of new distributors. In fact a local boutique store in Ballina has just started to sell a full compliment of products, the name is Meridian and its on River Street - Main street of Ballina.
I’m also on Aussie ebay. Its very easy to sign up, and I can send products straight to your home.
I also have products in Happy High Herbs stores in West End Brisbane, Nimbin, and Byron Bay, however they have a vego policy and my products with lard aren’t welcome. (bloody vegos!)
    Thanks again,
    Karen.

    Hi Karen,

I am an aesthetician in Alberta Canada looking for products to sell to my clients and use in my back bar for facials… Do you sell wholesale, or would you be willing to sell in bulk? I was also interested in what you were making for that gentleman from Hollywood… I enjoyed reading your blog!

    Kind regards,

    Anne
