Witch’s Brew

Traditional skin care the way grandma used to make it

cleanser brain wave

By Karen on October 21, 2007

Hallo Nourishers!
Just spent the last week moving house and setting up my new kitchen. I have a lot more space and am very happy.
While making up a new pot of stock, I started wondering of the possibilities of making broth into a face cream….. Might try that soon, maybe call it ‘chicken soup for the skin’ or something :-)
I’ve also been reading a beautiful book on old fashioned skin care and beauty tips from the exotic middle east. A lot of their recipes still use old fashioned clays and animal fats. Been reading about ‘gramm’ which is a Morrocan paste made from chick pea flour as a cleanser. I started experimenting last night with some chick pea flour, white clay, whey, and lemon juice. It worked really well and left my face quite pink, zingy and incredibly soft. I’m looking forward to perfecting the recipe and adding it to my product line. Hopefully I should have some for the Byron Markets on Nov 4.
Cheers until next time,
Karen. aka witchypoo!
